SNC-LAVALIN ACQUIRES THE QUALITAS GROUP
SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that it has acquired the engineering firm Groupe Qualitas Inc. (Qualitas) and all its subsidiaries.
Active in Quebec for nearly 50 years, Qualitas is an engineering firm specialized in four sectors: materials engineering, pavement management and engineering, geotechnology, and environment. Qualitas has some 300 employees providing services throughout Quebec in more than 12 offices and laboratories in 10 administrative regions.
"We are very proud of this acquisition because it not only allows us to welcome to our ranks a leader in these sectors of activity, but also to strengthen our presence throughout Quebec," said Yves Cadotte, Senior Vice-President of SNC-Lavalin’s General Engineering Division (Quebec). "In addition, it reinforces our expertise, enabling us to participate even more efficiently in construction and rehabilitation projects of all kinds."
Qualitas is recognized for its strong track record in the hydroelectric, transportation and infrastructure sectors, as well as in the institutional, industrial, and municipal sectors.
"Our partnership with SNC-Lavalin is perfectly in line with our development strategy," said Charles Malenfant, President of Qualitas. "It provides us with the means to maintain, and even accelerate, the sustained growth we have had over the past few years without compromising the two elements that are the strength of our company and the basis for our success: the world class expertise of our employees and the quality of the services we provide to our clients."
SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) is one of the leading groups of engineering and construction companies in the world, a major player in the ownership of infrastructure, and in the provision of operations and maintenance services. The SNC-Lavalin companies have offices across Canada and in 34 other countries around the world and are currently working in some 100 countries.
