SNC-LAVALIN CHOSEN BY NEW BRUNSWICK FOR RESTIGOUCHE HOSPITAL PPP
The new hospital, which will be designed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver specifications, will be built by an SNC-Lavalin Construction-led joint venture with a wholly owned subsidiary of Bird Construction Inc. It will have 140 beds in seven in-patient units, and facilities for education and research, clinical support, and administration and general support services. It will also serve as the forensic psychiatry facility for the province. SNC-Lavalin Operations & Maintenance will provide operations and maintenance services for the centre for a total of 30 years.
“This contract further expands our growing portfolio of PPP contracts,” said Gilles Laramée, Executive Vice-President and CFO, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. “Our ongoing mandates include roads, bridges, a state-of-the-art acoustic concert hall and an ultra-modern hospital complex.”

Work is already underway and the centre is scheduled to open in 2014.
