SIRR INGÉNIERIE JOINS SNC-LAVALIN

Reims | November 18, 2005

SNC-Lavalin Group is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, SNC-Lavalin S.A.S., has acquired Sirr Ingénierie, an engineering firm based in Alsace, France.

Sirr Ingénierie has 63 employees in offices in Strasbourg, Metz and Lyon. It has been developing its track record in building engineering for nearly 30 years in the areas of healthcare (75% of its activities), educational institutions, recreation and manufacturing. Its recent achievements include the Cannes and Douai Hospital Centres, the European Management Complex in Strasbourg and the Osram Plant in Molsheim.

“Teaming up with Sirr is in line with our strategy to build our capacity in the hospital sector,” said Jean Claude Pingat, President of SNC-Lavalin in Europe. “It also rounds out our geographical network in eastern France by giving us a significant presence in the Alsace region.”

Sirr’s extensive and acknowledged expertise in the hospital sector, combined with existing expertise at the Trouvin and Pingat subsidiaries in France, and SNC-Lavalin’s Montreal office, will increase SNC-Lavalin S.A.S.’s core strengths in the healthcare sector. Under the umbrella name “SNC-Lavalin Healthcare”, the three French companies will work with leading architects, contributing both general and specialized medical engineering expertise to highly complex and large-scale public and private projects.

SNC-Lavalin (TSX:SNC) is one of the leading groups of engineering and construction companies in the world, a global leader in the ownership and management of infrastructure, and a key player in facilities and operations management. SNC-Lavalin in Europe, based in Reims, France, comprises the Group’s European subsidiaries, which employ 1000 people in the fields of general building and infrastructure engineering, as well as in industrial process engineering. Its offices also carry out public and private project management from strategic planning to commissioning.
