Barahona Potable Water Treatment Project

We have completed the Barahona potable water treatment plant and its 170 km pipeline conveyance system in the Dominican Republic. At the project's peak, we had 850 local people working on 24 separate work sites. It will deliver potable water to 400,000 people in need, at a rate of 1.75 m3/second. Client: INAPA

Great Man-Made River

The construction of 129 potable water wells in southern Libya is one of the most ambitious construction projects of the 21st century. Called The Great Man-Made River, it aims to make the Libyan people self-sufficient in agriculture. SNC-Lavalin's work involved the installation of more than 45 km of stainless steel pipe, 10 exploration wells with a depth of 700 to 1,000 m as well as 36 piezometers installed at depths varying from 100 to 1,200 m. SAA Project - Initial Work on the System of the Transfers of AEP

Operation and maintenance for one year of a 150,000 m3/water treatment plant designed and built by SNC-Lavalin, including  two pumping stations,  two reservoirs and 70 km of piping of 800 and 1,200 mm. The project was designed and built by SNC-Lavalin as part of a large Algerian emergency plan to provide drinking water to Algiers. Client: Agence Nationale des Barrages

57 km Water Transmission Line from Collingwood to Alliston

Conceptual and functional design, engineering, procurement, testing and commissioningSNC-Lavalin Engineers and Constructors (SLE&C), a subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin Inc., as the principal in a 50/50 partnership with Con-Drain Co. Ltd., entered into a public-private partnership with the Town of New Tecumseth to design, build, maintain, operate and partially finance a water transmission line from Collingwood to Alliston, Ontario. Treated water is pumped from Raglan St. Pump House operated by Collingwood Public Utilities Corp.(CPUC) in Georgian Bay.The project includes the design and construction of the 57-km, 600-mm diameter watermain, two pumping stations, three metering stations and a chlorination plant. The pipeline is fully automated and is controlled from a central station. It was put into operation in September 1999 to meet the water supply needs of the town, specifically those of the Alliston industrial area and a Honda plant, as well as the increasing demand for water in surrounding communities. Client: Town of New Tecumseth

Works Management on the Castrovido Dam

The Duero Hydrographical Confederation awarded us the consulting and assistance for the surveillance and control work on the Castrovido Dam on the River Arlanza. The dam is 75 metres high and made of vibrated concrete. Client: Duero Hydrographical Confederation
