GTS designed, developed and delivered a virtual control room to train the operators of the Canaport Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) receiving terminal in Saint John, New Brunswick. Operators were trained on LNG unloading and regasification, including steady-state operation, alarm handling, problem resolution, and start-up and shut down procedures.
The dynamic simulation was so realistic that it matched both controller response and process behaviour. GTS provided on-site delivery and installation of the final version of the simulator on a dedicated training computer. We also provided a one-day training session to allow the trainer to master simulator functionalities and a one-week support period to assist in training sessions.
