SNC-Lavalin has donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross to assist relief efforts following the torrential rain and intense flooding that devastated entire parts of Texas, in the United States, following the passage of tropical storm Harvey. Thousands of families have been displaced by heavy rains over the past few days. This donation will enable the American Red Cross to provide the community with important support for personal services, cleanup, rebuilding, furniture replacement, and other necessities to assist with the recovery.
“Our thoughts are with all the people whose lives have been impacted by this disaster,” said Neil Bruce, President and CEO. “Employees of SNC-Lavalin and Atkins who are in Texas are our foremost priority. We are proud to support the Red Cross as it strives to support the research, relief and mutual assistance activities that are under way in Texas and to provide immediate relief to our friends and colleagues at this time of great need.”
This latest donation confirms SNC-Lavalin’s steadfast commitment as a corporate citizen and community leader, and it represents an important continuation of our relationship with the Red Cross. Earlier this year, SNC-Lavalin donated $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist relief efforts following the intense flooding that devastated parts of southern Quebec, Canada. Just recently, SNC-Lavalin donated $20,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support emergency relief efforts after massive wildfires burned across British Columbia, in Canada.
