Western Alberta Transmission Line 

WATL project is one of the first 500 KVDC lines built in Western Canada. It consists of 347 kilometre high-voltage DC power line joined at each end by the HVDC converter stations as well as the AC sub-stations. SNC-Lavalin is carrying out the engineering and procurement and hiring contractors to complete the work.

WATL will deliver dependable, reliable power to several hundred thousand people in the south Alberta area for generations to come.
