At SNC-Lavalin, safety isn’t a choice – it’s a way of life. As a result of this steadfast approach to safety, our team in Sakhalin, Russia, was recently presented with the coveted 2018 Contractor SSHE Champion Award at the Exxon Neftegas Ltd (ENL) annual SSHE Forum in Yuzhno- Sakhalinsk. For over 15 years the team has delivered support services for the project across multiple scopes in operations and maintenance without a Lost-Time Injury (LTI).

“I am absolutely delighted and honored to accept this award on behalf of our team on Sakhalin. This is the eighth time we have been nominated for this award, and that in itself is a reflection of the safety culture that has been fostered here over the 15 years we have been working here,” said Michael Goulding, General Manager, Sakhalin. “We have just surpassed 15 million hours without an LTI, which is an outstanding achievement given the complexity of the scopes we execute and the harshness of the conditions here. This can only happen with the daily commitment of our entire team to the company’s safety values and everyone is to be congratulated for this effort.”
