Alexander (Sandy) Taylor, President, Power

This week, more than 26 SNC-Lavalin projects were recognized as some of the top 100 infrastructure projects in Canada. This is the fourth year we have achieved Platinum Elite status with ReNew Canada – their highest ranking – and we’re exceptionally proud of the teams that got us there.

Among those recognized by ReNew were nine projects in our Power portfolio. From the Site C Clean Energy Project in British Columbia to the Darlington Retube & Feeder Replacement project in Ontario and from the Keeyask Hydroelectric Generating Station in Manitoba to Quebec’s Romaine Complex, SNC-Lavalin’s team of dedicated and talented Power experts deliver value every day to our customers in Canada and around the world.

We are particularly honored and grateful to our customers for all these opportunities to be a part of building projects that matter.

SNC-Lavalin got its start in Canada’s power industry over 100 years ago. Our first projects included hydro studies and since then, we’ve continued to be a leader in power, installing enough thermal, nuclear and hydro projects to power 35 cities the size of New York City, and enough transmission and distribution lines to circle the globe almost three times. Today, we have a wealth of expertise in clean and sustainable power technologies, including geothermal, run-of-river, waste-to-energy, biomass, solar, wind, high-efficiency cogeneration and low-carbon nuclear power.

Canada’s economy is expected to gain long-awaited momentum in 2016. Clean and affordable energy is key to Canada’s growth from coast to coast to coast. By investing in a mixed power portfolio, Canada will ensure it has the energy requirements to fuel economic expansion.

SNC-Lavalin is devoted to continuing our partnership with industry to build a stronger Canada. We believe that project sustainability is achieved through a combination of best practices, innovative technologies and cutting-edge processes. Our ability to deliver sustainable solutions for changing market realities has made us one of the world’s most responsible and multidisciplinary engineering and construction firms.
