One of SNC-Lavalin’s first major projects in Latin America was the Tintaya copper mine in Peru, built at an altitude of 4,000 metres in the Peruvian Andes in the early 1980s. Since then, we have delivered a large number of major projects, including large scale mining and metallurgy, power, transmission and distribution and infrastructure facilities. Today, we are one of the largest global engineering firms in the region.
SNC-Lavalin is one of the largest engineering suppliers to Ecopetrol in Colombia, and are currently providing them with management consulting services for the development of the country’s crude oil distribution program.
We are also supporting Antofagasta Minerals’ commitment to sustainable development at the global copper producer’s Antucoya process plant in Chile’s Atacama Desert by using desalinated sea water for all operational requirements.
Our world-class projects and references in the region provide us a strong base to develop our business in four key countries: Chile, Peru, Colombia and Brazil.
