Canada is a leader in the field of sustainable development, and SNC-Lavalin has a well-established record of exporting this expertise to developing nations. Supported by funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and other international development agencies, SNC-Lavalin conducts environmental management education and training programs in developing countries around the world. In 2002, SNC-Lavalin won the Canadian Award for International Cooperation for its pollution control project in China.

China Cleaner Production Project for Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) - assessment of Chinese industry, in a number of sectors, to find ways to make production practices more environmentally friendly. Project involves environmental assessment, technology transfer and writing of best practices manuals.
