SNC-Lavalin's earth and geoscience services are provided by professional geologists, hydrogeologists and engineers with expertise in geology, terrain analysis, applied geophysics, site investigations, groundwater flow analysis, engineering geology, contaminant transport analysis and modelling.

SNC-Lavalin's hydrogeological services can be provided directly to clients or through multi-disciplinary projects such as waste management master plans, environmental impact assessment studies, watershed studies, hazardous waste remediation programs, environmental site assessments or site remediation contracts.

Services

· Groundwater resource studies, water supply assessment, groundwater protection strategies, well head / well field protection strategies, small community development and complete watershed planning studies.

· Waste facility siting studies. Assessment of contaminant migration from landfill leachate and impacts of hazardous waste disposal facilities. Design of leachate collection and control systems with performance modelling and monitoring.

· Terrain analysis techniques to assess impacts of preferred locations for road alignments, pipeline corridors and overhead hydro lines.

· Hydrogeological and geological impact of land development and resource utilization with appropriate proponent documentation as required by regulatory agencies. SNC-Lavalin carries out a wide range of projects, including development proposals, old landfill assessments, multi-disciplinary EAA / EPA applications, and mine developments.

· Field investigation and analytical techniques including program design, test pitting, mapping, drilling, well logging, pumping tests, sampling and monitoring.

· Groundwater and soil quality evaluations for environmental assessments of industrial / commercial / military / institutional sites prior to land transfer or real estate transactions to provide protection for the parties involved and recommendations for restoration. SNC-Lavalin is also experienced in assessing and implementing hydrogeological aspects of site remediation.
