Hydro-Québec,
Canada |
SNC-Lavalin
ECS was contracted to supply six SCADA/GMS systems to
Hydro-Québec, the utility providing electricity
to Québec, the largest province in Canada. The
SCADA/GMS systems serve six operational centres across
Québec, a remote centre in the northern section
of the province and one development centre in Montréal. |

EDELCA Venezuela |
SNC-Lavalin ECS supplied a new SCADA/GMS to EDELCA for
the Guri Dam, the world’s second largest hydroelectric
plant in terms of power production capability. Each
of its two powerhouses contains 10 hydroelectric generating
units. The total capacity of the 20 generating units
is 10,000 MW. |

Sichuan Electric Power
Company China
|
SNC-Lavalin
ECS supplied a state-of-the-art SCADA/GMS/EMS, including
real-time market applications, to the Sichuan Provincial
Power Company. Sichuan's population of 84 million is
served by a hydropower network with an installed capacity
of 15,000 MW. |

Shawan
Cascade China
|
The Shawan
Computer Control and Supervision System was installed
for the purpose of monitoring and controlling two hydropower
stations: Gongzui and Tongjiezi. Both Gongzui and Tongjiezi
are cascade hydropower stations located on the Dadu
river. Gongzui is situated approximately 33 km upstream
of Tongjiezi. Gongzui hydropower station has an installed
capacity of 700 MW (7x100 MW) and Tongjiezi 600 MW (4x150
MW), creating a combined installation capacity of 1,300
MW. These hydropower stations have the two largest installed
capacities among power stations in the Sichuan province.
They play an integral role in the power network including
peak load, frequency regulation, and serving as reserved
capacity under abnormal conditions. |

Geheyan
China |
The SCADA system controls 1,250 MW of generation at
a hydro-electric facility in China. The scope of the
project involved the control of four turbine generators
and the associated switchyard. User written logic and
control sequences are also provided. All text information
for operations was provided in Chinese characters. |

Grand
Coulee United
States |
This project
was a complete replacement of the computer control system
for the Grand Coulee Dam, which has a total capacity
greater than 6,200 MW. The replacement system supports
centralized monitoring and remote control of 24 large
generating units and eight pump/generators (used for
both irrigation and pumped storage). The system includes
support for user-written control and logic sequences. |
